The University of Guelph (UoG) is a Canadian internationally recognised research university with strong expertise in ecology, agriculture, and environmental sciences. Its research addresses global challenges related to sustainable food systems, biodiversity conservation, and the functioning of terrestrial ecosystems.
Within ProPollSoil, the UoG supports the synthesis of existing knowledge on soil–pollinator relationships, contributing ecological insight from international research contexts (WP2). UoG is involved in pan-European monitoring activities, supporting the interpretation of harmonised soil and pollinator data across Case Study Areas (WP3). UoG contributes to analyses that address knowledge gaps on how soil conditions and environmental stressors influence pollinator biology and performance (WP4) and supports the assessment of Case Study Area data to evaluate how soil management practices affect pollinator health under real-world conditions (WP5). UoG additionally contributes to the integration of empirical findings into broader threat analyses, supporting the development of mitigation approaches and management-relevant recommendations (WP6).
