The University of Aberdeen (UoA), UK, is a research-intensive university with strong expertise in environmental sciences, ecology, and land-use systems. UoA’s work focuses on how soil properties, management practices, and environmental conditions influence soil health and the suitability of habitats for insects, including pollinators that depend on soil environments for nesting and development.
Within the ProPollSoil project, UoA coordinates the filing of knowledge gaps on biology, ecology, and threats of soil-dependent pollinators (WP4). UoA plays an important role in generating and analysing soil and ecological data, supporting cross-site comparisons and the integration of findings across different environmental and land-use contexts. Its research helps to strengthen the scientific basis for understanding how soil condition and management affect pollinator populations.
