The Faunomics Team of Rifcon specialises in biodiversity assessment services like species identification, population generals and monitoring.

Role within ProPollSoil

Within ProPollSoil, Rifcon contributes specialised expertise in applied ecology and biodiversity monitoring. Rifcon supports the integration of monitoring-related knowledge into the synthesis of soil–pollinator interactions (WP2). They also play a key role in the pan-European monitoring framework, with a particular focus on the development, testing, and application of innovative biodiversity monitoring methods, including environmental DNA (eDNA) approaches for detecting soil-dependent and ground-nesting pollinators (WP3). Rifcon contributes to methodological development and validation, supporting the assessment of how soil conditions and environmental pressures affect pollinator communities (WP4). Rifcon supports the implementation and interpretation of Case Study Area data by ensuring high-quality, standardised monitoring across sites (WP5). Additionally, Rifcon contributes monitoring expertise to the integration of empirical data into threat analyses and supports the development of robust, evidence-based recommendations (WP6).
