Hungarian Institute of Agriculture and Life Sciences

MATE – the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences is a leading academic institution with strong expertise in agriculture, environmental sciences, and sustainable land management. Its research and education activities focus on addressing challenges related to soil health, biodiversity conservation, and resilient agricultural systems.

Role within ProPollSoil

Within ProPollSoil, MATE supports pan-European monitoring activities by contributing to the analysis of soil properties and soil biota and their links to pollinator communities (WP3). MATE contributes to addressing knowledge gaps on how soil conditions and biological processes influence pollinator ecology and functioning (WP4). MATE supports the interpretation of Case Study Area data by providing agroecological perspectives relevant to agricultural landscapes (WP5). MATE further contributes to the integration of empirical findings into broader assessments of threats and management options, supporting the development of evidence-based recommendations for soil and pollinator health (WP6).
