Faculty of Biology of the University of Belgrade

The Faculty of Biology at the University of Belgrade (FBUB) is a leading Serbian academic institution with strong expertise in ecology, biodiversity research, and environmental biology. Its research addresses fundamental and applied questions related to ecosystem functioning, species interactions, and biodiversity conservation in a range of terrestrial environments.

Role within ProPollSoil

Within ProPollSoil, FBUB supports the synthesis of existing knowledge on soil–pollinator relationships, contributing ecological and trait-based perspectives (WP2). The faculty is actively involved in pan-European monitoring activities, contributing to the collection and interpretation of harmonised soil and pollinator data across diverse land-use contexts (WP3). FBUB contributes to analyses addressing key knowledge gaps on how soil conditions, environmental stressors, and land-use history influence pollinator biology and population responses (WP4). FBUB supports the interpretation of Case Study Area data to assess the impacts of soil management practices on pollinator health (WP5). The faculty contributes to the integration of empirical findings into broader threat analyses and supports the development of evidence-based mitigation and management recommendations (WP6).
